Chunk Calculator.

Convert between world coordinates and chunk numbers instantly. Type a coordinate to get the chunk, or type a chunk number to get the coordinate range. Works on both X and Z axes.

How chunks work
Minecraft divides the world into 16×16 block columns called chunks. Chunk 0 covers blocks 0–15, chunk 1 covers 16–31, and so on. Negative chunks work the same way — chunk -1 covers blocks -16 to -1.

When is this useful?

Knowing chunk boundaries is essential for slime chunk finding, mob farm placement, and making sure structures don't straddle chunk borders. Farms often perform better when entirely within one chunk.

The F3 debug screen shows your current chunk in the Chunk: x y z line. This tool helps you work backwards from that number to find exact block coordinates, or forward from coordinates to know which chunk you're in.

Chunk boundaries are always multiples of 16 — so if your X coordinate divided by 16 gives a whole number, you're on a chunk border.
